Health and Wellness
At DSR Public Health Foundation, we believe that every person, regardless of where they
live deserves access to the information, resources, and support needed to live a healthy life. In
rural and underserved communities across North Florida, barriers such as limited healthcare
access, transportation challenges, and under-resourced systems often prevent residents from
receiving preventive care and timely health education.
Cinotti HealthCheck: Screening and Referral Initiative
Since launching our health and wellness efforts, with support from the Florida Department of Health, DSR Public Health Foundation has completed nearly 1,000 free health screenings across rural counties such as Gadsden, Madison, and Jefferson. Together we are helping residents identify health risks early and improve long-term outcomes. The addition of HIV testing, counseling, and referral services expands our reach and ensures more individuals receive the comprehensive support needed to protect their health and the health of their communities.
Promoting Preventive Care and Early Detection
I hadn’t had my blood pressure checked in years. Thanks to the screening event, I found out I had hypertension and was able to start treatment. I’m so grateful they came to our town.

HIV Testing and Counseling
In rural communities where access to care can be limited,
we bring HIV testing and counseling directly to where people already gather such as churches, community centers, schools, and local events. Our approach is confidential, welcoming, and judgment-free, focused on building trust, sharing clear information, and connecting individuals to follow-up care so preventive services feel accessible and stigma-free.
